You may be coming to therapy because you feel depleted emotionally, mentally, and physically. You may be experiencing tension in the body, along with feelings of anxiousness or dysregulation. You may be coping in ways that once served a purpose but no longer feel supportive, like turning to food or alcohol to soothe, distract, or numb.
You may be aware of your patterns and know what you need to do, but you just can’t seem to do it. You may experience a range of emotions but feel unable to sit with or process them, and may even notice feelings of shame and guilt from the judgments you place on yourself. At the same time, you may be pushing through when your body and mind are craving softness.
You are not alone in this. I have been there and have tried to navigate the storms and darkness on my own, when what I really needed was a light.
Hi, I am Christie, a former burnt-out teacher who was forced to take care of myself after experiencing extreme moments of nervous system shutdown, unhelpful thinking and behavioural patterns, and ongoing self-judgment and criticism.
I grew up in a household shaped by mental illness and addiction, where I learned to seek certainty, control, and safety in ways that were not always helpful. Over time, the coping strategies that once served me became limiting, and I was pushed to look inward.
Through my own healing, I began to understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and the body, and how emotions can act as an inner guidance system when we learn how to listen.
My hope in working together is to walk this path with you and to be a guiding light. On our journey together, you are in control of the steps we take, while I hold the flashlight.
We can work together to support your nervous system by creating safety in the body. We can begin to untangle the thoughts that may be keeping you stuck in unhelpful thinking and behavioural patterns, and shift the stories that keep you in cycles of shame.
My approach to therapy is integrative and trauma-informed, blending cognitive and skills-based approaches (CBT and DBT) with deeper exploratory work (psychodynamic and narrative), alongside nervous system-informed practices (polyvagal and somatic).
If this feels in alignment, I invite you to book a discovery call to connect and learn more.

I’m an integrative counsellor specializing in trauma, sexuality, and the tender places we’re often told to hide. My work is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and a refusal to pathologize your humanity. With over a decade of experience in social services, I draw on trauma-informed approaches—including TF-CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and EFT—alongside guided meditation and holistic practices.
I see therapy as a space of safety, connection, and possibility—where you can be fully witnessed and supported at your own pace. My role isn’t to “fix” you, but to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your inner strength and step into a more authentic, empowered life.
